Rejoice in the tough times!

Habakkuk 3:17-18 (New International Version)

v17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
v18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

In the past, what people counted as property/money was livestock (sheep, goats, cows), plantations (rice, wheat, olive, grapes) and maybe jewellery too? However in these verses, Habakkuk (prophet) told the Lord that even if his plantations fail and his crops dies. Even when he has no more livestock, he will still rejoice in the Lord our God.

In the same way, we can learn from Habakkuk. When God let us go through the tough times to prepare us for the future, when we suddenly lose something important. When we go bankrupt or we suffer from illness/diseases or maybe even lost our loved ones, will we still praise God and worship God? It is okay to grumble and complain to God but let us trust in Him and know that God is in control. Always remember our final stop in life is in Heaven, NOT during our life. So hang on to God and do not give up! God bless!
